ABOUT ME

My childhood interest in depicting what I saw through drawing evolved into photography in 2010 with the purchase of my first DSLR camera. Discovering the fascinating world of tiny creatures, textures, and often overlooked details in nature made macro photography a significant part of my life.

What started as a simple journey with basic equipment has evolved over time into a comprehensive field of expertise, encompassing experience with various sensor systems, professional macro lenses, telephoto and zoom lenses, lighting equipment, and advanced shooting techniques. Since 2010, I have used equipment from numerous brands, both in controlled environments and in the field, evaluating not only their technical specifications but also their strengths and limitations in real-world shooting conditions.

Since 2015, alongside macro photography, I have focused on wildlife photography, documenting nature from a broader perspective that encompasses everything from tiny details to birds and other living creatures. In my work, I treat macro, ultra-macro, close-up nature, and wildlife photography as complementary parts of the same story.

For me, macro photography is more than just about magnifying a subject. Choosing the right equipment, magnification ratio, working distance, light control, flash and diffuser use, focus bracketing, focus stacking, editing, and composition are all important parts of the process. And above all, respect for the subject and their habitat is paramount.

Over the years, I have gained technical knowledge and field experience, which I continue to share with photographers through seminars with film and visual production companies, face-to-face events with leading firms in the industry (Sony, Om System, Zoom Import, Foton), workshops, and online training sessions. In my training sessions, I focus not only on which setting to use, but also on explaining why that setting should be preferred.

I completed my role as OM System Turkey Brand Ambassador, which I started in 2024, in June 2026 at my own request. During this period, I conducted field studies focusing on macro and wildlife photography with the brand's cameras and lenses, and produced training, review, and practical content.

Following my time as a brand ambassador, I transitioned to an independent, multi-brand content production model to experience different systems within the photography industry under the same field conditions and offer my audience a broader perspective. I share my experiences in an unbiased and comparative manner, without any payment or brand control.

In the photography, video, review, and educational content I produce under the name Villcorvus, my aim is not to simply repeat technical data, but to demonstrate what this data can actually offer to a photographer in real-world situations. Combining over fifteen years of experience with aesthetic expression, technical accuracy, and field expertise, I continue to provide a reliable and practical resource in the field of macro and wildlife photography.
